Swap with Robyn

Hey Friends,

I received my first goodies from a Swap I did with Robyn Cox.  We are members of Shoppers Without Borders at Your Paper Pantry.  Click on the badge on my sidebar if you are interested in this fun group.  I decided to open the package, do a video of what was inside and then create something using those items...   Robyn sent me some very nice items so check out the video to see them all and as usual, I had cat help while videoing the goodies.....And it's always William...that Video-Feline!!
She sent me this beautiful light yellow, sparkly lace.

Also, there was this beautiful teal and yellow bling by Basic Grey called Opaline.  I love Basic Grey...their one of my favorite companies...  How did she know that??

Paper is from K & Company Basic K
Top Note Shape cut from SCAL on the Cricut
Swirly Scallop shape is from the Storybook Cartridge
Sentiment is TPC Studio Greetings Clear Stamp
Ink is Distress Ink Broken China
Camera - Canon 5D
Flash - 580EXII

Check out the video of the Swap items posted above...

I was supposed to take  Copic class last night...drove for 1.5 hours just to find out that they had been trying
to call me all day to tell me it was canceled.  But all was not wasted, they gave me a discount at the store so I bought 5 Copic markers, 4 bottles of Stickles and some embellishments...  Had fun any way...

Have a good day and thanks for stopping by my blog!!!

Embellies are Prima flowers and antique buttons.

Pick of the Litter..................

Just finished going through, pulling apart, untwisting, untangling the broken jewelry that I bought last week.  There was some real finds in there.  Also, there is a video in the works of the best "jewels"  but  it won't be done until the next few days.  I gotta edit that thing because....well let's just say the videographer wasn't a very good director....(ME)
I've been thinking every day that I need to make a card but I just couldn't get in the mood....I could organize the craft area but I just didn't have any mojo....  I guess it came back tonight because i got out my new stamps, trimmed them up and started stamping......

I used to stamp Movable Parts 101 Fluffy Cats Big
Aidirondack Butterscotch and Slate Ink
Georgia Pacific Cs to stamp on
Ribbon and stickers from stash
Design Paper is from DCWV "The Glitter Stack"

{{{and by BTW...I fixed that ribbon "problem" after I took the picture}}}...

It was a quick card and very fun to use those stamps.  Hope you enjoy it...

Thanks for stopping by my blog ,

Vintage Valentine Tag Swap

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I signed up to partipate in a tag swap with Arlene on youtube and Life At The Srapbeach.  The theme was Vintage Valentine and I was assigned to group three.

I used the Avery 110005 Shipping Tags from Staples as the base for my tag.  I distressed the edge of the tag, sprayed with glimmer mist and then used Distress Ink around the edges with two different colors.

I then stamped and embossed the image. The stamp I used was Party Hat Cats from Lost Coast Designs.  Embossed with black Craft Essentials embossing powder from JoAnn's and black Crystal pigment ink.

Them embellishments were glued on with Glue Dots glue lines and small glue dots.  I cute the leather heart out by hand and the whole tag was sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist to give it a sparkle.
The handle of the tag is antique vintage lace from the Lavonia Antique's Market, Lavonia, Georgia.

My group was required to make 11 tags...
1 to keep and 10 to give away...

I'm looking forward to see what I get back.

Thanks for the visit,
Micki

Happy Birthday to My Wonderful Son, Scott!!

Hello Friends and Family,

My son Scott turns 24 today and I want to write this message to him to let him know what a wonderful man he has become.

From the day he was born, he has brought nothing but happiness to our family with his everlasting smile and his good nature.

Scott was reading when he was three years old,

doing algebra at five.

playing bassoon at ten, re-writing symphonies at fifteen,

graduated with two degrees at twenty-two

and now is on full scholarship at Yale graduating in May with a Masters in Music.

He is engaged to a wonderful girl named Kristen who is just like a daughter to me.

He has never balked at hard work, faced everyday with a smile and has more talent in his little finger than I do in my whole body.  I couldn't be more proud of my youngest son!!

Happy Birthday, Son!!!

Love,
Mom

Mother's Are Right!!!

I become more like my mother every day!!!  Last night she called and asked me why I haven't called her in a while..(I talked to her just a few days ago)...anyway....
This is the same thing I asked both of the boys just yesterday....
"Why Don't You Call Your Mother More???"
My grandmother told me...my mother told me...and I told my boys..... the same old southern saying....."Turn about is fair play!"  Ooooops....I hate it when I've been had by my mother!!!!!
She asked me last night when her Valentine was coming in the mail.....and had been checking the mailbox for a card  ......Nothin'

Uh... Oh...

I had been working so hard on Scott and Kriten's album that I hadn't made her one yet but that is rectified today...So mother if you don't want to see your Valentine before you get it don't read any further..... (But I know she will)......
